Brett Reynolds is a Principal of AltaView in the San Francisco office and brings over 20 years of experience with emphasis in real estate valuation, investments, acquisitions, brokerage and asset management. He has provided valuations for a variety of purposes including gift and estate tax matters, expert witness work, cost segregation, property tax appeal, brokerage, acquisition, underwriting, and investment. Mr. Reynolds has a broad base of valuation experience involving large taxable estates holding complex assets and large real estate portfolios throughout the United States.
Valuation projects range from large scale master-planned developments, agricultural land, high density apartment complexes, office, life science, shopping centers, and a number of larger real estate portfolios. Specialized assets and interests include vineyards, long-term ground leases, cannabis facilities, old-growth timber land, conservation land, golf courses, aggregate mines, marinas, and historic estates. International valuation experience varies from European logistics portfolios, Chinese investment portfolios, and Caribbean development projects (Dominican Republic, St. Kitts, Nevis, etc.).
Prior to joining AltaView, Mr. Reynolds was a Partner and Senior Vice President at Kidder Mathews in San Francisco. He has also acted as Director of Acquisitions & Asset Management for a privately held real estate fund (negotiating the $25.5 million sale of a self-storage facility to a private UPREIT and upleg acquisition of a 400-unit apartment complex in Texas). Mr. Reynolds also served in senior positions at Colliers, KPMG, and FMV Opinions, Inc. Mr. Reynolds lives in Burlingame and is happily married with 2 kids. He is an avid swimmer, scholarship athlete on USC’s Division 1 Men’s National Championship Water Polo team (2003), and later completed a 23 mile solo-swim across the English Channel, raising money to fight Alzheimer’s.
