Ivan Neilson, CFA, is Senior Vice President of AltaView and is located in the firm’s New York office. Throughout his career, Ivan has provided business valuation and financial advisory services for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, investment funds, and operating companies. Ivan’s primary area of expertise is the determination of discounts for lack of control and lack of marketability for entities that hold both traditional and non-traditional assets.

Ivan has performed valuations for estate and gift tax administration, expatriation taxes, corporate transactions, and financial reporting. He has valued a wide range of securities including common stock, preferred stock, restricted securities, and private debt. In addition, Ivan has expertise in the following areas:

• Intra-family promissory notes

• Built-in gains analyses and corporate structure discounts

• Complex ownership structures and multi-tiered entities

• Interests in hedge funds and private equity funds

• International investment funds

• Highly illiquid and distressed assets

Prior to joining AltaView, Ivan was a Senior Associate with Noble Four Partners, LLC (NFP), an M&A advisory firm with a focus on cross-border transactions in the manufacturing and materials sectors. Prior to joining NFP, Ivan was a member of the alternative asset valuation group in the New York office of FMV Opinions, Inc.
