Ruth Flynn Raftery, JD, CPA, is a Senior Advisor to AltaView and is based in New York City. Ruth's diverse background includes previous senior leadership roles in business development, public accounting, and wealth management.
Ruth brings to AltaView significant experience in estate, gift and trust taxation for both domestic and international clients. During the course of her career, Ruth has become a trusted advisor to many attorneys, accountants, insurance and financial professionals nationwide. From these relationships and her experience in both estate planning and compliance, Ruth is in a unique position to counsel advisors regarding the valuation services that are best suited to meet client needs. Ruth has held leadership roles in the Trusts and Estates profession, including past President of the Estate Planning Council of New York City, and chair of the New York State CPA Society’s Estate Planning Committee. She is also a member to the American Academy of Attorney-CPAs.
In addition to her role as Senior Advisor to AltaView, Ruth is co-founder of Advanced Planning Educational Group, Inc., a membership group which provides educational and professional resources to the financial planning community. She also serves as a consultant to the Estate, Gift, and Trust Services Group at Wiss & Company LLP, a public accounting firm. Previously, Ruth served as a Wealth Advisor at Round Table Wealth Management, Senior Vice President at FMV Opinions, Inc., Director of New Product Development for Tax Products at Thomson Reuters, and Senior Manager in the Tax Department at Deloitte. Ruth received her accounting degree from the University of Scranton and her JD from Temple University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in New York and is a certified public accountant.
